Sitting Duck | Poem

Come get me
I lay in your waters
A thin bubble of rubber
Between my skin and your body
Giggles ripple through water
Starting every hair on me
My smile grows slowly and with what feels like
Effort
The wave of joy breaking
Rocks of resistance within me
Washing away yeats of bitch-face
And drowning unworthiness
Building momentum
Soaring with new wings
As if never held back
Such as one ought to
I’m the perfect layup
The easy lob
Floating
Laughing
With my heart oozing
From my pores
Come get me.
